collective space

The first piece of collective space was hosted by GIPHY in 2017 as the final individual arts commission in their 2016/2017 cycle of artist pages. It depicts a variety of a sprawling unfinished labyrinths. The form and philosophy of the various structures is inspired by a trip to Arcosanti, an urban laboratory in the Arizona desert. Arcosanti was designed by Paolo Soleri, an architect who propagated the idea of a building as a living body. This framework conceives of the building is a silicate organism and we are the soft stuff inside. See the inaugural artwork here.
